I tried Truvia as well - don't like it. But then I found Sun Crystals. It's a blend of Stevia and Sugar Cane. Only 5 calories per packet. LOVE IT.

Here's a short answer from Wikepedia"
"Agave nectar (also called agave syrup) is a sweetener commercially produced in Mexico from several species of agave, including the Blue Agave (Agave tequilana), Salmiana Agave (Agave salmiana), Green Agave, Grey Agave, Thorny Agave, and Rainbow Agave.[1][2] Agave nectar is sweeter than honey, though less viscous.

Agave nectar syrup is produced in South Africa and the Mexican States of Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato and Tamaulipas. Most is produced in Jalisco and the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.

Agave Nectar sugar is only produced in South Africa from the Blue Agave Americana plant. The process of production is a closely guarded secret."

Why? Why should there be any sugar added to any product. Why not let people add their own sweetner to caps and lattes? What is the purpose of adding sugar, when no suger is required?

This would certainly be an easier solution than trying to please all of the different requests. Some items would still need to be sweetened, but certainly some of the selections could be sweetener, and/or sugar, free.

I agree!! leave the sweetening choice up to the consumer.
I refuse to use any artificial chemical sweetener. Stevia or Agave is my only choice. Nutrasweet and Splenda are causing numerous health issues with people who are sensitive to it.

They shouldn't add any sweetener - artificial or sugar - at all. They should leave the adding of the sweeteners up to the individual consumer. Give me all natural products without adding any kind of sweeteners. Being a diabetic, I will add my own amount of stevia.

Is there a comprehensive list of Tassimo discs which contain sucralose? I tried searching on the official website, but no luck.

I've never heard of Agave Nectar. Is is a processed item like Splenda and Stevia, or is it a natural sweetener like Sugar Cane juice?

An excellent alternative to Splenda and Stevia but it does have calories is Agave Nectar. It is low glycemic index, sweetens well, natural, and no funny taste or after taste.

I actually got the chance to try it last night at my sister's house... but it was one packet on top of strawberries. It tasted fine to me, but strawberries have their own strong flavor, so maybe that's why I didn't notice any odd taste to it.

Maybe I'll try some in some coffee later and see. But thanks!

I tried the Truvia brand and did not like it - had an "off" taste and an aftertaste in my opinion. But I I haven't found an artificial sweetener that I do like.
