I've had this current model for two years. The descaling light has just recently stayed on, despite several descalings over those years. Not to fear. Everything is working absolutely normally and my machine is EXTRA clean since I've tried it three different times in a week, just to see what would happen. Coffee brews well, everything runs smoothly..... stupid light just won't go out. I called to be sure and Tassimo tells me that it's a computer glitch and, just as long as I don't forget to ever descale the machine, it's all good. ">

I found by letting the low water level float trip it turns the descale light OFF and the stand-by light ON. The written procedure in the manual is confusing because it incorrectly states "The stand-by icon will light up after approx 20 minutes of running the descaling program"

Good suggestion, Stephen. I'll pass it along.
Thanks.

When you descale, make sure that you completely fill up your water reservoir --to the full line at least.
Then run the descaling cyle until you get a low water reservoir light. Then, do you clear water rinsing (as you would to finish normal descaling). Your descaling light will then go out automatically.
The machine is "smart" and knows it needs a completely full tank of water to fully descale --otherwise it keeps its light on.
Thanks! Tassimo should add this to their FAQs --its a common question from people.

Had the same problem on the Suprema. Tried descaling two times in succession and still the light remained on. Customer Service said to live with it, eventually the light would turn off. Two months went by and I descaled again, replaced the piercing unit and finally the light went out!!

I had this same problem. Talked to customer service and got two different answers, niether of which worked. They sent me a new machine. We'll see what happens when it lights up on the new one.

So how did that work out for you? Did your light go out? Mine never did. I used it for a week after the light came on.

Same thing over here. Light came on, bought descaler, descaled as directed at least 4 times and the light is still on.
I just got off the phone with the folks @ Tassimo and was informed that I could go ahead and proceed with using my Tassimo regularly after thoroughly cleaning the unit.
Apparently, there's just a glitch in the machine where they've discovered that the red descaling light hasn't been turning off for people until AFTER they resume regular brewing. Strange, but the CSR assured me that I would see the red light go out after about a day or so of use.
We'll see.... I'm going to give it a try. Good luck, everybody!

Most grocery stores carry some sort of coffee maker descaler. Look in the coffee aisle.

Where did you get your descaling product? What brand? Our local BB+B knew nothing about descaling.
